UETDRMP007 Perform rescue from a live low voltage panel (Digital)

This unit involves the skills and knowledge required to perform a rescue from live low voltage (LV) electrical apparatus in an electricity supply industry (ESI) environment. This does not include overhead lines and underground cables.
It includes the organisational workplace requirements for the inspection and use of live LV panel rescue equipment, and how it applies to ESI workers to meet work health and safety (WHS)/occupational health and safety (OHS), mobility and mutual aid requirements.

Key Learning Outcomes
By the end of this course‚ students will be able to:
 
  • identifying organisational rescue requirements
  • identifying hazards, assessing risks and applying control measures
  • identifying the isolation point
  • obtaining and inspecting rescue equipment
  • fitting of rescue personal protective equipment (PPE)
  • performing a rescue from a live low voltage (LV) panel in accordance with workplace requirements.

Units of Competency

On successful completion of this course, students will be eligible for a Statement of Attainment (SOA) for:

  • UETDRMP007 Perform rescue from a live low voltage panel

An SOA will be issued by Skills Network Australia Ltd within 30 days of completion of the course, provided all USI, fees and charges have been finalised.

The units of competency listed above are current on the National Register of VET at the time of publication.

Prerequisites

Prerequisites for this unit include:
  • HLTAID009 Provide cardiopulmonary resuscitation
  • UEECD0007 Apply work health and safety regulations, codes and practices in the workplace
    OR
    UETDREL006 Work safely in the vicinity of live electrical apparatus as a non-electrical worker
NOTE: If a student holds an unrestricted Australian Electrical licence [confirmed by evidence of the licence] or an ESI worker [confirmed by employer letter], those individuals will meet the UEECD0007 or UETDREL006 pre-requisite requirements.

Course Requirements

Foundation skills essential to performance are explicit in the performance criteria of this unit of competency.

The remaining foundation skills essential to performance are explicit in the performance criteria of this unit of competency.

You will require an internet capable smartphone or tablet to complete online components of the course.

All other training and assessment materials and equipment will be supplied throughout the course. Students should wear comfortable, casual clothing.

Delivery Modes

2 hours online pre-course learning plus 1 day classroom training and assessment.

Training and assessment can be adjusted to account for specific workplace requirements and the existing skills and knowledge of the students.

Renewal

There is no industry standard recommended renewal date. Please consult with your workplace procedures and policies regarding certificate renewal.
