Key Learning Outcomes

The simulated assessment environments will reflect the real-life working environment where these skills and knowledge would be performed, with all the relevant equipment and resources of that working environment. Skills must be demonstrated by the student working individually in an environment that provides realistic in-depth, industry-validated scenarios and simulations to assess students’ skills and knowledge.

You will be observed and assessed physically demonstrating correctly fitting PPE:

  • Eye protection,
  • Hearing protection.
  • Hard hat.
  • High visibility retro reflective vest.
  • Dust mask

Unit of Competency

On successful completion of this course, students will be eligible for a Statement of Attainment (SOA) for:

An SOA will be issued within 30 days of completion of the course, provided all USI, fees and charges have been finalised.

The unit of competency listed above is current on the National Register of VET at the time of publication.

Prerequisites

There are no pre-requisites for this course.

Course Requirements

All students are required to provide 100 points of identification and complete an Evidence of Identify (EOI) form prior to commencing the course.

Foundation skills are the underpinning skills required for participation in the workplace, the community and in adult education and training.

Learning – to learn to work safely in the construction industry

Reading – in order to read and understand signs, workplace forms, and instructions and to make accurate reports.

Writing – in order to record details and to make reports using handwritten skills and computer skills

Oral communication – to employ reporting, communication and information-gathering techniques

Numeracy – to calculate risk rank for risk assessment

1 day classroom training and assessment.

Training delivery is classroom based using workplace situations and examples for practical activities.

Renewal

There is no specific renewal period for this course. Ask your employer about their currency expectations.

The white card (or general construction induction card) becomes void if you haven't carried out construction work for two consecutive years or more.
